Disneyland Trip Day 3

Our third day in Southern California, Memorial Day, was spent going to the Santa Ana (for fellow Jeff Dunham lovers, Sa nata Ah Nah) Mall which we usually do every year (Can’t you tell my mom is an avid mall fan?!)

Anyway, we just walked around there a bit like we normally do and we had to go into our favorite coffee shop, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.  You thought I was going to say Peet’s didn’t you? We love Peet’s.  I’d go there over Starbucks in a heartbeat.  But The Coffee Bean is even better, and while they have five locations in Northern California (all in San Francisco) they aren’t convenient to get to for just a cup of coffee, so it’s Peet’s for my mom.  I don’t go anywhere really.  Too expensive.  But I do have the occasional cup at home that I make myself.

After going to the mall, we went back and rested fora little while, then headed over to Knott’s Berry Farm for our traditional Fried Chicken Dinner. It’s the only meal I will allow myself to pig out on and not feel guilty.  I don’t eat the skin (I don’t care how crispy, I don’t like skin) so that saves on the calories.

I didn’t realize that there was a glare in the sign! Oh well.

Nick was trying to figure out what he wanted, of course we all knew what he was going to get.

I got boysenberry juice in honor of my dad.  I”m not a big fan of juice, but theirs is pretty good.  One every year (or less) isn’t bad for drinking something with sugar in it.

I can’t decide what he’s thinking in this picture…  Can you caption this picture?

For the first course you get salad and your choice of chicken noodle soupe (pictured below) or some strawberry rubharb concoction.

It may look like I am but I don’t believe I’m praying here.  Not quite sure what I’m doing actually.  Another caption request?

I seriously love these biscuits!  Especially with their jam.  I don’t even need butter. Just the jam.

Then the piece de resistance.  Fried Chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy.  OMG SOOOOO freeking good!!!

I just ate the chicken leg and the breast.  I don’t really like dark meat (although I eat the leg sometimes) and the wing is all skin and not much meat.  We realized after ordering that they had a lighter meal where you get soup or salad, 2 pieces of chicken, potatoes, corn, and the biscuits.  Not exactly healthy either, but I’m going to order that next time because it’s everything I want.

I’m not a big fan of yellow corn (gimme some white and I’m a happy camper) so I only ate a few bites of the corn.

I was so full from everything that I really didn’t want dessert, but it comes with the meal so I had a bowl of vanilla ice cream.  I mixed it up a little before I remembered to take the picture.  It was more like soft serve and I love soft serve.

Once we were done with dinner, we drove across the street to the side that has a replica of Independence Hall along with a replica of the Liberty Bell inside.  You can sit in a room and listen to a re-enactment of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Of course it was closed by the time we got there, so we just got to see the outside of it….

On our way back to the car, you could see the rickety wooden rollercoaster in the park.

My mom wanted a picture of me.  Not bad seeing as it was dark out.

Then we finally got back to the room.  Here’s a quick pic of my swag from the day.
